Card machines keep not wanting to read my debit card today because my card has gotten worn down from repeated use. I went to the bank after work to request a new one, and they are already closed. At 5:00 PM the lights were still on and the workers were standing at the desk, but the doors were locked and they were smirking at me. I hate these smug jerks and their inability to be open for more than a few hours a day, and those hours are in the middle of my shift. I can go on and on about why I hate the bank, but I'll stop here.

Being a retail manager, I can understand the workers too. When your store is about to be closed and people walk in with business that will go on past your close time. That used to drive me fucking crazy when I was still an associate but as a manager, I would rather help people and get their money lolol

I will agree that giving you a smug look is bullshit. That's to deliberately piss you off and that's nonsense and only hurts business.

Back in my younger retail days I didn't actually mind when people rocked up on closing time.
Mostly because we had a senior staff member who hated leaving even 30 seconds after her finish time (no shit. Seriously, 30 seconds mattered.) So when it was just me and her closing up, I would send her home to look like a nice guy. And then (in a semi joking way, but also a 'I'm going to capitalise on your emotions' way) spend the whole next day making her feel bad about me having to close alone 15 or so minutes late (seriously, it's 15 minutes I would have been caught in peak hour traffic anyway, who the hell cares?) and making her do favours (my work, basically) for me the whole next day.

15, mayyyybe 20 minutes of my time in exchange for a chill 8 hour day to follow. Still seems worth it to me.
No regrets.

That's fucking amazing. unfortunately, only managers are allowed to close up since they have the keys (I work for bigger stores) and the closing team was usually 6 to 10 people. So yeah. They whined a lot about being stuck.

I hate racism. I get so mad when I hear racist remarks. But when people try to defend racism, that infuriates me a lot.

I have no time for hate speech. I myself used to get comments about "the famine being over. Go home". I've also been called an "irrelevant depressed scotsman" even here on Atrium. Nobody deserves to be treated poorly based on where they're from, tbh.
I don't like it either - but the negative rep on some races is so bad it leads to it. I guess it would be like having customers or borrowers with a bad reputation. I mean, think about it, the world's credit system is based on reputation, so is racism in other areas a surprise?

It was pretty good.
Damn working at bigger places must suck.
This place had 8-9 staff members total. Only three of us (the full time staff) had keys.

Closing was only ever two people.

That would BOOOORE me omg. I'm used to higher traffic and always having something to do. I mean the smallest store I've run was $3.3 million annual volume and the biggest was $23 million. I... don't know what I'd do with that few workers. That would probably annoy me lmao. Add that to the list?

Paying my ISP $139 per month, for unlimited data and super quick speeds ..but when it fails due to an error on their part on the weekends ..having to wait until Monday for a repair .. annoys the s*** out of me. >.<

Internet is a 24/7 service ..therefore, technicians should be available at least 7 days a week ..right? :glare:

I rang them at 6:30 PM ..and just got off hold 10 minutes ago ..and it's now 10:42 PM. :srsly:

Well, shit. Okay, you're not with my current ISP with that hold time, but I almost feel I could guess who you're with.
You'd think technicians should be at least more frequent than they are, but no. Even here in the second biggest city in the country they are 9-5 Mon-Fri (they may work Saturday too? Not too sure. Point is, they don't work around the clock.) You've gotten lucky on getting someone in on Monday though, maybe it's a sign of where I live but last time I needed a repair it took a week for an appointment. The time before that when we needed to technician to set us up after moving house mid last year it took a full month.
A lot happened that month that still annoys me.
I'll add June 2017 to my list of things that annoy me.

I know talking to them with the hold times is a pain, but maybe what I did to my current ISP is what you should do...
I called them at the start of this year, when my internet was cutting out and said 'It's 2018. I'm on the NBN. My service is more unreliable than it was this time eight years ago. You guys are a tech company, tell me, isn't technology moving forward? The price I'm paying certainly is.'
Long story short, I ranted, raved and demanded until they matched the price I was paying in 2012. :devious: I mean, I was legit pissed off. But still the outcome was pretty sweet.

Since then we haven't had too many issues either. We had one month where we had a fair few drop outs, so I called them and basically said 'Service this month has been unforgivably shit. Shove your bill, I'm getting this month for free. Sort your life out.'
